Men and Masculinity
Men and masculinity is a topical issue that creates divisions in the contemporary society due to the different opinions held by individuals regarding the subject. In the play, it is evident that men oppress female characters and deny them access to participate in a public forum. For instance, when investigating the death of Mr. Wright, the men involved in the scene are outrightly chauvinistic and sexist against the women. From this instance, the topic of men and the way they apply their masculinity in activities in the present day world becomes clear, as the female characters struggle to be recognized in their own right.
Many women across the world experience the brutality of men when they use their masculinity to influence the outcomes of events in the community. In this regard, the topic explores the plight of women in the society that is dominated by men (Kelly 17). While the issue of gender is mostly avoided, it is essential to note that many instances where women are discriminated are unknown due to the perceived powerful nature of men that discourages women from reporting these issues to the relevant authorities. Importantly, the research process was educative as I learned about issues affecting women in the modern world. Throughout the book, I researched about instances where the discrimination of men against the women was evident.
Conclusively, the issue of men and the masculine allocation to tasks has been highly observable in recent times.
