State Level
Governor: After serving both the state government and private sectors for several decades, Charlie Baker became the 72nd governor of Massachusetts in 2015 (Office of Governor Charlie Baker and LT. Lt. Governor: Since taking office as the Lt. Governor of Massachusetts, Karyn Polito has been steadfast in helping the governor improve the lives of the people of Massachusetts especially homeless families. House and Senate Representatives: Congressional representatives who usually comprise of senators and house representatives serve US citizens both at the state and federal government levels. At the Senate, Massachusetts is represented by Elizabeth Warren as a Senior Senator and Edward Markey as the Junior Senator (Elected Leaders 1). The state has nine representatives representing its districts at the Congressional level. Federal Level
President: At the highest office in the federal level, Massachusetts is represented by President Donald J. Trump. Since he believes in the maintenance of secure borders as a critical component of the national security policy, Trump has established a refugee program that upholds the safety of US citizens (Trump’s Cabinet: The People around the President 1). He has admitted that the US will continue to recognize refugees and permanently resettle them. It is critical to note that enabling refugees to return home and reunite with their families is the primary goal of Trump’s refugee policy (Trump’s Cabinet: The People around the President 1). Vice President: Mike Pence, who has served politically as a congressman and governor of Indiana was elected as US’s vice president in 2016 with President Trump. Throughout his career life, he has been a staunch Republican. As the vice president, Pence has demonstrated resilient devotion to the welfare of Christian minorities in the Middle East. He has assured religious minorities in this region of continuous support through USAID. Similar to the president, he can be contacted through direct calls to the white house or by sending letters to his office through the address as provided earlier.
Senators: Massachusetts is represented at the Senate by Elizabeth Warren as a Senior Senator and Edward Markey as the junior senator. Both of them belong to the Democratic Party and can be contacted through the phone numbers (617) 722-2000 and (617) 727-3676. Since her election, Warren has been committed to promoting the welfare of small-scale business persons by supporting community banks through decreased regulation. Likewise, Markey has been vocal on issues related to job discrimination based on sexual orientation.
Representatives: Massachusetts has nine representatives who are at times referred to as congressmen/congresswomen. Notably, all the nine representatives of the different districts in the state are Democrats (Elected Leaders 1). With the introduction of various bills in the Congress, the nine house representatives have demonstrated their resilience towards vulnerable groups specifically women and the elderly.
