Federal electricity commission

The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) is a productive company of the Mexican State responsible for controlling, generating, transmitting and marketing electricity throughout the country. It was founded on August 14, 1937 by the then in charge of the Federal Government, General Lázaro Cárdenas del Río. The CFE in early 2000.70% at the national level, a transmission and distribution network of 614,653 kms, which is equivalent to more than 15 full turns to the earth and more than 18.6 million users, incorporating almost one million every year. From October 2009, CFE is responsible for providing electricity service throughout the country.

Wait! Mission, Vision And Objectives Of The Federal Electricity Commission (Cfe) paper is just an example!

Background

The generation of electricity began in Mexico at the end of the 19th century. The first generating plant that was installed in the country (1879) was in León, Guanajuato, and was used by the textile factory "La American". Almost immediately this way of generating electricity within mining production was extended and scarcely for residential and public lighting. In 1937 Mexico had 18.3 million inhabitants, of which only seven million had electricity, provided with serious difficulties by three private companies.

These companies were The Mexican Light and Power Company, with the first major hydroelectric project: the Necaxa plant, in Puebla. The three electrical companies had the concessions and facilities of most of the small plants that only worked in their regions. At that time, light interruptions were constant and very high rates. To resolve this situation that did not allow the development of the country, the Federal Electricity Commission is created.

Mission, vision and general objectives

Mission: “Provide the public power service with criteria of sufficiency, competitiveness and sustainability, committed to customer satisfaction, with the development of the country and with the preservation of the environment."

Vision to 2030: “Being an energy company, the best in the worldwide electricity sector, with international presence, financial strength and additional income for services related to its intellectual capital and physical and commercial infrastructure. A company recognized for its customer service, competitiveness, transparency, quality of service, capacity of its staff, technological avant -garde and application of sustainable development criteria."

As is a public service organization, non -profit does not seek their personal interest but that of citizens in general, that is why everything that is carried out is to meet the needs of society and with the service providedgrowing even more and reach more places.

The general objectives of the CFE are:

  • · Satisfy the demand for electricity of the Mexican population.
  • · Stay as the most important company of this turn in the country.
  • Develop a high reliability electrical system.
  • · Operate on the bases of international indicators in productivity and technology.
  • · Operate with criteria of economic and financial profitability typical of a consolidated company.
  • · Being recognized by users as an excellent company that cares about the environment and is oriented to the customer service.
  • · Promote high qualification and personal development, as a professional of workers and managers within the CFE.

Organizational theory approaches

Within this company it is almost impossible to choose only one approach, since the characteristics it has is a combination of several, to start with the classic approach, developed by Henry Fayol, which says that the best form of organization is based ona distribution of functions that are subdivided into subfunctions and procedures. In this case, the CFE coincides with said postulate since, to obtain a better development and efficiency within the company, the tasks and functions are divided to different people, within the CFE are: the General Directorate, the Operations Directorate, the Subdirectorate of Programming, the Coordination of the Energy Savings Program of the Electric Sector and the Social Communication Management, among others.

Within the bureaucratic approach of Max Weber it is said that the best organizational taking is the one that has clear and rational rules, impersonal decisions and technical excellence in its employees and managers, the Mexican organization has official regulations in which the functions that are dictated by the functions that are dictated by the functions that the functions that are dictatedThey will comply, whether the departments or workers in general, the workers who require it are given necessary training to perform their most prepared activities and are evaluated by exams at the end of said course.

The human approach dictated by Elton MayActivities is carried out together with each other, this makes the company work, for the contribution of each person within it.

In the systemic approach by Ludwig, Katz and Rosenzweig, which says that the best form of organization is what harmonically coordinates the different subsystems that define the organizational system, this approach seems to be the most successful with that of the organization, becauseThis is the case that is handled in such a large company, so that it works better, perform the activities better, and continue to grow as it has done so far.

Type of organization

The CFE is a parastatal company, it is a decentralized public body, with legal personality and public heritage, which aims to provide an electrical service to the population. It is a non -profit organization since it is characterized by having the purpose of fulfilling a certain role or function in society without seeking a utility for it. In the same way it is formal because it is characterized by having official and defined structures and systems for decision making, communication and control. Decentralized company, the authority assigns to another authority the responsibility of making decisions in the chain of command as far as possible.

Criticism of the organization

  1. Public lighting: there are colonies, at least in Tijuana, where public lighting lamps do not function as they should, there are times when they stop working occasionally because of the faults that are discussed towards them, but in other times these only these onlyThey stop working because the spotlights that were put at first and the commission have not changed them and the commission did not change them. They should organize rondines from time to time for sure mobility, since a side effect of this is that people with bad intentions take advantage of this lack and commit dangerous and illegal acts, causing damage to the citizenship of around them.
  2. Blackouts without justification: on several occasions blackouts occur without prior notice or justification. It can be understood that when the weather is somewhat strong, these events pass, but on many occasions this is not so and the currents simply go out. It may be perhaps the case of the arrangement of some inconvenience that you have, but a warning would not be bad a few minutes before, to be able to prevent any incident anywhere.

Conclusions

In general, the Federal Electricity Commission is a company that provides a very good service, the fees they manage are fair. It has positioned itself among the greatest in America and that is a good indication. It reaches every corner of Mexico efficiently, just as it has a great technology developed here, it is a good representative of Mexico anywhere in the world. In addition, it has been updated according to the needs of each person, an example of this are the ATMs in which the account of the receipt is possible and they are increasingly in more places and closer to the people.

The management of their human capital is good, they provide job training from time.
