As an organization that deals in the manufacture of motor vehicles, General Motors exhibits a closed model of organization. The classification of the organization as a closed model is based on the many features that it portrays that resemble those of the closed organizations given. Closed organizations have hierarchic structure the same way GM is constituted. The organization has the hierarchical structure of leadership that exists in the company with Marry Barra and Dan Amman as the Chief Executive Officer and the president respectively (General Motors, para1). The company has established the specific routine pattern to allow it to make its products. These everyday tasks that are undertaken by the employees of the organization are carried out under the given conditions that are stable (Henry, para5). The areas for vehicle manufacturing need to have the right equipment and should be designed first before the actual production. This then indicates that the manufacturing process must follow a given format to come up with the desired model designed by the technical personnel.
The organization utilizes the task specialization where employees are given specific tasks depending on the expertise of each one of them though they get directions from the technical person in charge. The whole process of manufacturing requires that proper means are used the employees adhere to the instructions given by the supervisor in charge. Those with skills and professional knowledge are inclusive at the top part of the company while those with fewer skills take directions to perform actual duties (Henry, para5).

This is true when considering the characteristics of the closed model organization. Thus, the style through which the people interact in this particular organization is based on the command and obedience to orders to obtain specific results of the desired model. It also has established the channel of distribution of its vehicles where it sells directly to consumers or uses the distributors.
