Due to this scenario playing out twice during the same stay, discuss some of the health implications that this man may be facing.
The gentleman faces the risk of repeated Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) since the bacteria is resistant to the antibiotic that he was being given. Vancomycin is an antibiotic that is used to treat tough bacterial infections in the human body. However, after the vancomycin ends, the gentleman suffered a UTI since the antibiotic that helped in fighting the bacteria causing the disease was finished. Severe MRSA infection results in fever, chest pains, chills, headache and poor breathing mechanism (Baddour, 2010).
What other conditions or health problems might he be at risk for now?
The gentleman is at risk of developing pimples, boils, and skin infection such as impetigo. All these infections arise as a result of bacteria in the human body or on beneath the skin (Baddour, 2010). Moreover, the bacteria may be absorbed into the bloodstream, making it travel to some internal organs, thus causing severe infections such as septicaemia, endocarditis, pneumonia, and osteomyelitis (Baddour, 2010).
Are there any organs at risk for being compromised?
The MRSA bacteria usually occur in damp parts of the outside body of a human such as the groin, armpits, nose and the hands. However, the principal organs that are likely to be compromised by the infection are the bloodstream, bones, lungs, joints and the heart (Baddour, 2010).

Wait! MRSA Infection paper is just an example!

Are there any adjustments you could make to his diet or nutrition that may make the situation better?
A person with MRSA infection needs to eat foods that can boost his immune system such as drinking kefir or yogurt containing probiotics, which help in producing white blood cells that fight diseases and bacteria (Baddour, 2010). He can also consume more garlic since it contains allicin, which is a good antioxidant that helps in detoxification of the body. Garlic promotes the production of antibodies and stimulates the white blood cells production (Baddour, 2010). Maintaining a balanced diet and avoiding alcohol also helps in keeping a good immune system that aids in fighting the bacteria (Baddour, 2010).
Describe what “quality of life” aspects are relevant when a very elderly person is near death, and you are the caregiver.
Maintaining proper hygiene and a balanced diet can help in boosting the immune system so that the body can fight the bacterial infections and diseases that may arise. Moreover, one should avoid stress and ensure that the patient gets enough sleep to ensure that the immune system is not compromised (Baddour, 2010).
