AbstractThe American Nurses Foundation has existed for more than 60 years. The core objective of the foundation is to provide relevant information that helps all the nurses and other people with interest in the nursing profession by providing them with useful data and information. Through journals and other valuable resources in the nursing profession, nurses are updated on current trends such as available opportunities, salaries and how the nursing profession is growing. Moreover, the information provided can be very crucial when conducting research on various issues concerning nursing. This paper is a review of the secondary data provided in the ANA fast facts 2014. It also explains the importance of the information provided on the website and also explain the significance and meaning of validity and reliability with respect to research. The paper also looks at observation as the best method of data collection and MBI as the preferred measurement method to burnout clinical issues.

Nursing Research
After reviewing the secondary data presented as facts on the ANA fast facts 2014, it is quite clear that matters concerning the interest of nurses in the United States are given a high priority. The secondary data mainly encompasses the median RN salaries and their trends, new jobs and the overall replacement needs, and the nursing education (American Nursing Association, 2014).

The data is collected from various sources such as the Bureau of Labor and Statistic, the Department of Labor and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. Data is an essential component when conducting research. Therefore, methods and tools employed in the collection of data and its analysis should be reliable and valid.
The core objective of ANA sharing their result is keeping nursing informed on matters such as median RN salaries, the overall growth of new jobs and the replacements needs among other vital information in the nursing profession. Additionally, the data shared by ANA can be useful when conducting research that involves nursing. The quality of any research is affected by various factors, but the most crucial components are the reliability and validity of the tools to be used. When valid and reliable tools are used, the chances of the result to be erroneous is minimized and this result to high quality and accurate study. Reliability can be referred to as the measure of consistency or stability of a given test or score while validity refers to the accuracy of the tools used.
In conclusion, accuracy is very crucial when collecting data since it determines the validity and reliability of the outcomes of a given study. Concerning burnout clinical issues, I consider observation to be a very reliable tool when collecting data for research. This is because it can capture information independently without interfering with any set variables. Through observation, I can be able to interact directly with the participant and observe their behavior based on various condition. Data can be measured using various approaches after collection. I consider the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) to be the best measurement tool because it is highly reliable and the validity of its result is quite intriguing. However, one must restrain himself from interfering with the study for validity to be correct.
