This assignment is to reflect on a pediatric patient who is undergoing some specific psychosocial issues. A patient by the name Jane has been brought to the office and is experiencing the problems which have been stated above.
Jane is a three-month-old infant who was brought to the hospital because of global development delay. The infant was born preterm by a caesarian section because her mother was undergoing a lot of distress, and she was 5.7 pounds. Her mouth had a challenging pregnancy time. On physical examining the patients, upper and lower segments height and arm span, they were 24.5, 23.5, 58 and 62 centimeters respectively (Kan, Haas, 2017). Her weight was almost 8.2 pounds. By examining her eyes, I realized that she had a lens dislocation. The mother of the child said that the infant had mood swings, had changed her eating as well as a sleeping habit and she had a lot of fear and anger.
After reviewing the patient who has been presented in this case study, it seems that she might have been suffering from global development delay disorder; this affects the cognitive development of the child of the age compared to that of Jane. From my analyses of the patient and of her family, I realized that this had been a persistent issue in the family.
My ‘aha’ moment came when I manage to treat the patient and prescribe some drugs for her. The way she responded to the drugs which I had to specify for her made me happy. This created a sense of fulfillment about what I had learned in class.

The process I used to identify what the patient was suffering from related what I had gained in the university. This satisfied men that we were being thought in class could be readily applied in the real world in a clinical setting.
