Abstract
Evidence-based practice involves integrating clinical expertise with patient values and combining them with the best research evidence. The main reason is to enhance the decision-making process concerning the patient. The nurses spend a considerable amount of time with the patients hence the need to understand the working environment based on available evidence. The nurses can develop changes meant to ensure that optimal results are achieved. The nurses require peak or optimal working conditions and environment to realize greater efficiencies and results in patients’ care. The field of nursing is often faced with the challenge of a stressful working environment brought about by the various negative dynamics that arise. However, the nurses often have to work for longer periods rendering them stressed and less effective in the dispensation of the duties. The paper herein is research on a clinical nursing issue through a PICO (T) question aiming at realizing optimum and high-quality discharge of professional services by the nurses.
Introduction
The optimal working conditions and environment are essential to ensuring that optimal results are realized. The field of nursing is often faced with the challenge of a stressful working environment. However, the nurses often have to work for longer periods rendering them stressed. Long working hours often result in fatigue and stress on the part of the nurses resulting in a situation where their productivity is reduced (Ganguly et al.

, 2014). The nurses tend to exhibit a decreased level of alertness, and both the patient and the nurses feel the impacts. The decrease in alertness exposes patients to greater harm since the nurses may fail to administer the desired quality of care to the patients. When the nurses work for longer periods for every shift that they are at work, their level of satisfaction to their work will reduce. Moreover, such nurses experience burns out implying that they are unable to execute their duties properly. The main focus will be on the improvement of the working conditions for the nurses and in this regard instituting changes in the conditions that the nurses are subjected would prove crucial. As a nurse, the primary focus is on improving the conditions personally and for the patients to improve their health outcomes. In the case of improving the working conditions for the nurses, the most appropriate type of evidence to be used would be case-controlled study. Such evidence-based studies provide a great perspective that can be used in comparing the outcomes when nurses are subjected to an optimal working environment (Peterson et al., 2014).
