Industries and occupations prone to accidents
Accidents are unforeseen but they can be prevented. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, an estimated 5,190 accidents occurred in 2016 (OSHA, 2018). The record shows an increase from the approximately 4300 work-related accidents that occurred in 2015. Research and studies are currently being carried out to seek answers as to why this increase has happened. There is a general expectation of the numbers to go even higher for the year 2017. The various industries and occupations that suffered these include:
Construction Industry
Energy Industry
Road and transport Industry
Hazardous waste management
Industries and professions most prone to high number of fatalities
In the year 2016, the Bureau of Labor Statistics recorded up to 5,200 work-related deaths, a 7 percent increase from 4,836 deaths that occurred in 2015 (BLS, 2017). Some of the cases may have gone unreported hence unrecorded due to the casual workers who are not registered. These deaths mostly occurred due to work injuries that involved the transportation incidents and construction falls. The rest varied among:
Incidences of collisions that result in damages caused by people
Occurrences of people falling or slipping
Engagements between objects in the environment with people
Spending time in hazardous conditions

Examine incidences to seek for their causes and prevent similar misfortunes.
