Oklahoma Blood Institute is one of the non-profit blood centers in America situated in Oklahoma state. While there, I worked with the blood drive in various locations such North donor Center and Edmond Donor Center. All of the above centers have almost the same things like beds, machines, and screening for donors. Despite that, the main building constitutes two floors where the first floor hosts the reception where donors can sign in and show their photo for identifications. It has Snacking area where donors can snack before or after making the donations. The floor also contains a reserved space which has five beds for donors donating the whole blood. There are also the apheresis machines used in separating the blood components such as plasma, platelets, and 2RBS.
The staff plays a significant role in OBI which has nine attendants, five for drawing the blood and four for screening the donors. There is a room for stem cell collection dealing with the bone marrow transplant for people who need a marrow transplant. The organization participates in the global blood fund to give blood for the third world countries.
The floor also contains a laboratory which has three sections. The first section is for ensuring that the blood units and everything meets the requirements. The second section hosts the centrifuge machines used in separating the blood components. That provides the various division of blood to help people with different needs.

In the third section, they have small devices called expressers that push constituents to other bags to produce different products, for example, the platelets, plasma, and blood cells. With most of the tasks taking place in the first floor, the second one hosts all administrative offices (Colberg, 2010).
