When it comes to the “Patient Safety Mentor” program, I will give priority to the emergency department. The emergency department should know how to coordinate with other units concerning the emergency that occurs in the department. This will help the nurses and the doctors that work in the emergency department to get assistance especially when there is a necessity to have more manpower or skills to conduct a particular medication to a specific patient who is in critical condition (Gannotta, 2013). The other department that I would give priority is the Intensive Care Unit. The ICU normally consist of the patients whose lives depend on the life support machines, and therefore, the physicians working in the ICU should have proper coordination with other units concerning the activities that they conduct to the patients. And also the ICU requires keenness and the specialists working in the department should have a sober mind and not when they are tired and weary (Walters, 2016). This can be achieved if those working in the ICU get assistance whenever they get tired or after a given period to ensure the level of accuracy is maintained.
The agenda of the meeting
The agenda will be learning and be sharing of ideas on the way in which the communication between the different units in the hospital can be enhanced. Through the message, the healthcare will be able to look into the factors that have hindered the communication and the coordination among the members of different units and the best ways in which the hindrances can be solved to ensure that there is proper communication between different units and departments in the healthcare.
