Patient satisfaction with nursing care

Introduction

Patient care is the essence of the nursing profession, so these activities require personal and professional value, which are intended to maintain, restore and care for life, based on the therapeutic relationship nurse – patient. However, there are situations that indicate the work of nursing professionals causing the essence of this to be lost, that is, respect for the life and professional care of humans.

Developing

In this globalized world, everyone has access to science, technology and information, and professionals (mainly nursing staff) face the need to improve their work processes and guarantee quality care for patients.2 However, this position shows that the care provided by nursing professionals in the different institutions is collapsed due to the inappropriate proceedings and overcrowding of patients which leads to the dehumanization of care, which are reflected in the constantscomplaints from patients breaking their care expectations.

On the other hand, patient satisfaction is an indicator of quality of care provided by the nurse and is of great importance since it is based on the difference between the patient’s perspective and the appreciation of the care that the professional will provide, based on the repairof the problem, the care provided by the nurse, the cordiality with which it was treated and the promptness with which I give care.

With the passage of time, the nursing profession is defined as the profession of service and patient care, so the nurse must show a high degree of responsibility, values and humanism in the care it provides to patients to obtain their complacency.

Wait! Patient Satisfaction With Nursing Care paper is just an example!

The requirement of better attention in public and private institutions has been increasing. Patients seek humanized care, not only professionals capable of solving health problems, but can also take care of their emotional state, taking into account that the care provided by the nursing professional should be integral.

At present, worldwide nursing care has become an essential element in the post operative. According to different reports, 234 million surgeries are made every year, that is, a surgery per 25 people. Therefore, 75% of very important surgical procedures belong to 30% of the total number of surgical interventions. Indisty of the benefits or deficit that provides surgery, poor access to timely surgical care about the patient continues to originate a complex dilemma in an important part of the world.

There are several studies related to this research topic, case, that of Ramos where it indicates that satisfying the health needs and expectations of the patient is the fundamental in the development of the care provided by the nursing professional. When referring to the fact that today, the care paid by health institutions is superficial and fast, generally due to the large number of patients and for the long work hours of the nursing professional. Demonstrating that little humanization is due to spiritual, psychic and physical isolation between nurse and patient. The attention provided,

The study of Suarez et al, is another that serves as a guide in the theoretical base of this study since it indicates a finding of 41.9% of patients poured satisfied, 34.9% dissatisfied and only 23.3% satisfied with the attention provided by nursing staff.11 It is true that patient satisfaction is transcendental in the expected result of quality care since it contributes positively in the improvement of patients, since, by participating in the treatment, care and following the nurse’s instructions duringThe service and discharge will provide a positive reference on nursing staff. However, on some occasions, the nurse cannot provide adequate care to the patient due to the workload, the minimum wage or other conflicts, therefore, it cannot meet their expectations or needs. As a consequence, if an adequate nurse – patient is not established, and the patient is not completely satisfied during hospitalization, he will generally not cooperate with postoperative care, which can generate dissatisfaction with the care received.

For the aforementioned reason, it is important to emphasize that nursing care has as its main purpose the satisfaction of basic needs, in addition, it participates in the behavior, cognition and the emotional process of the patient, since the recovery of thesame, based that the quality of this care provided will denote patient satisfaction. 12

Previous studies ensure that, in the surgical center service, the satisfaction and recovery of the patient are almost unfavorable. Compared to listening to the needs or discomfort of patients, nurses are more focused on administering treatment and completing nursing records. They rarely spend time actively listening. This merits that user satisfaction is considered a quality indicator to improve care and provide patient satisfaction.
