If these trends persist, this figure could reach two billion for 2030 .

It is to implement a change in urban progress such as agriculture, organization and policy formulation to guarantee access to urban food security, better environmental management and greater urban rural links .

The availability of nutritional foods of families as urban consumers usually depend on the food they buy, different centers of sale of food goods and services, whether in wholesale places, market chains, neighborhood stores or village especiallyrural or import areas. The demand for food for the family is determined by the number of people who make it up, according to FAO urban families participating in the AUP usually have greater food security and the benefit of a more varied diet.

Urban and peri -urban production of food also helps to increase the availability of healthy and affordable foods, especially fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs and dairy products, for a greater number of urban consumers .

Therefore, in Colombia there are problems with food insecurity in some population groups, especially the poorest and most vulnerable, the factors that determine their sustainability and sufficiency. According to the background of the FAO “the Sofi 2015 publication, data in Colombia has 4.4 million sub fed people, which corresponds to 8.8% of the population .
