The philosophical anthropology or philosophy of man is a systematic study of man for his ultimate causes and essential principles of being and acting humans. It is a modern philosophical current, with clear classic roots, which occurs from the current need of man to meet and for giving reasons of his being. In other words, philosophical anthropology tries to answer the question that the man of whom he is.
These doubts of man about his existence are based on knowing and knowing the fact of why there is. However, man’s question about himself is not limited to his own individuality. It is possible that the question about man is raised in terms of who am I?, or as a child wonders who are my parents?, Or how am I me?, are given to what you want to know more about yourself where it comes and how is your character. But when these issues are universalized they acquire the statute of philosophical. The philosophy of man, as a philosophical discipline, is proposed as an object of study man in its essential dimensions. That is, look at man not from his accidental or changing aspects, but from the unity that provides the ultimate knowledge about reality. This "philosophical anthropology" proposes the question of "what man is" in its deepest and most radical sense, which has been common to philosophers of all time.

Three great currents of the current philosophy can be pointed out, which coincide, in general, with the three philosophical pathways open from Kant: 1) the positivist and analytical movement, 2) the dialectical philosophy, and 3) the vitalism, theirrationalism and existentialism. The first focuses preferably on the philosophy of science and logic;the second in social and political philosophy and in the philosophy of history, and the third in ethics and aesthetics.
