Physical Evidence
Physical evidence is crucial while proving a case. Also called real or material evidence, physical evidence refers to all objects at a crime scene, which can help to establish the commission of a crime and link the perpetrator to the offense. When criminalists arrive at a crime scene, they make efforts to keep other people away from the area to avoid tampering with the evidence before they have collected enough of what they need.
From the scenario, Turn-a-round Lounge can correctly provide criminalists with the types of physical evidence required. For example, the footprints visible by the door Sam and Michelle exited from, maybe the knife used to kill Joe if it is still present, fingerprints on the murder weapon as well as other surfaces, for instance, the glass from which Sam took his beverages. If there were traces of the perpetrator’s hair on the victim, it would also form physical evidence. Criminalists would also collect the tire tracks to help link Sam with the scene. If the lounge accepts credit cards for payment, the criminalists would also collect the history for analysis because digital evidence ties digital activities to someone (Carrier & Spafford, 2003).
After collecting these types of physical evidence, the investigators would then take them to the lab for analysis. There are various sections of a forensic science laboratory, which would take part in the analysis of the evidence collected.

One of them is the forensic biology section, which would analyze biological tissues such as skin or hair found on the victim belonging to the perpetrator. The fingerprint analysis section would also help to analyze prints left on the knife and other surfaces in the lounge. The digital evidence unit would also examine credit card skimmers to find out the names of the people who transacted in the lounge on the night of the crime. Collectively, they would help to incriminate the offender.
