Diabetic prevention program
At the moment I’m registered in the Healthcare Lifestyle Policy track. In NR500, my area of research is to identify the diabetic prevention program (DPP) amongst the adults. Adults are prone to diabetic due to malfunctioning of body organs and poor lifestyle associated with malnutrition (Polit 24). Being within the segment of chronic disease prevention and management, I identified diabetes for the fact that the condition has not been given that much attention. I identified diabetes as a prevalent health issue that impacts on the quality of adults’ life as well as exhausts the essential and valuable healthcare outsourced and limited resources worldwide. Furthermore, it inexplicably impacts more the ethnic minorities plus the rural communities. Therefore, there is the purpose of shifting the focus of the healthcare community’s diagnosis and the treatment of this diabetes epidemic to absolute prevents the disease.
The program aligns with the area of specialty of chronic prevention and management. The identified is prior to the understanding that the global efforts to inverse the current diabetes trends have failed to be very successful (Parikh 237). I choose the diabetic prevention question for the reason that I am designated chronic management practitioner, and it is duly necessary to get our attention to the rural areas to understand how the condition can be further prevented and managed. Above all, I would not prefer changing the research area of interest because adults are residing in the marginalized or rural areas have been neglected over some time.

The PICOT question reflecting my area of interest is “In adults diagnosed with prediabetes living in the upcountry rural community (P), how would a simplified lifestyle intervention program (I) compared to no defined lifestyle intervention (C) affect blood insulin and glucose level (O) in 6 months (T)?”
