Posture about euthanasia: In search of life

Euthanasia is a complicated issue to address, since it generates division of opinions within different social groups of our society, it can generate a larger polarization when deepening the issue by implying minors and its decision -making capacity, and even more so whenrefers to a fundamental right such as life. But to talk about this, we must have a context of it, knowing what it is and how it deepens this in the different countries that implement it, and why it could be viable in our social reality.

  • "Euthanasia is death without any physical suffering by a patient of an incurable disease", which presents the first condition to perform euthanasia, which is to contract any disease called terminal. In countries like ours, euthanasia is contemplated as a legal issue since 2015, being pioneers in the continent as far as euthanasia is concerned. In turn, in 2018, Colombia became the third country in the world to adopt assisted death measures for minors, specifically patients from 12 to 14 years, with prior consent of the patient’s parents in question,And from 14 years and older they have the power to decide the fate of their life.

With regard to euthanasia with children from 6 to 11 years, the laws contemplate only special cases to apply such treatment, which wants to promote the bill in question. In this case, and taking as reference the great impulse that our country has on the issue of euthanasia, you must continue with these trends to promote the right to a decent life for people who suffer day by day the consequences of a disease which whichdoes not have proven medical alternative.

Wait! Posture About Euthanasia: In Search Of Life paper is just an example!

I fully agree with the measures of "assisted suicide" for children between 6 and 11 years, with conditions that regulate this measure, such as fully decided consent between their parents, and the knowledge of the implications involved in the measure of euthanasia. And our country must promote liberal thoughts, with advances within the rights of people; In turn, you must regulate these measures that are intended to be adopted, because beyond the moral or ethical implications that euthanasia implies, a "culture of death" should not be promoted within our society, and moderate these measures, studying thethorough cases not to generate familiarization with death.

Closing my position, support the trends of our country to promote euthanasia, since this is something that the world must live together, a decent life for each person, no matter how much this covers death to achieve it. In addition, Colombia is a pioneer in Latin America with these measures must promote the different states of the continent to adopt laws that contribute with the well -being of its citizens.
