After reading through the information provided by OXFAM America, it evident that workers in the chicken industry are greatly suffering. The tribulations they face are unfathomable and inhumane. It is quite disturbing to learn that a supervisor can deny a worker permission to visit the washroom to the point that she pees on herself. The demand for chicken and their products is on the rise hence earning a significant amount of money to the owners and the government as well in taxes (Oxfam America 1). Therefore, the sector needs close monitoring to ensure the workers are not exploited as farms seek to reap trillion dollars in profits. The situation is worse such that human dignity has become extinct. Evidently, the employees need to rise against such oppression and fight for their rights.
Notably, the only solution to these challenges is that the workers must begin strikes pushing for better work environments and remuneration. The labor unions and health research institutions such as the CDC have provided sufficient evidence to confirm the unsuitability of such farms for employees. For instance, CDC noted that most of the workers had surgeries due to work-related infections (Oxfam America 1). Apart from that, it is unsuitable for people to work for long hours in temperatures of about 40oF. Labor movements have also indicated that work environments are not favorable for workers as they are usually underpaid. In this regard, it would be effective if these workers could begin go-slows and non-violent demonstrations to push the management into improving their standards.

They should seek the intervention of human rights lobby groups to express their dissatisfaction. The workers must also push the international labor organization to intervene and help address their plight. Since Big Poultry and the chicken industry as a whole have considerably grown, the employees must push to be allowed to join labor movements as their issues would be addressed better.
