Consequently, I think this book is effective in government based studies because it contains relevant themes such as the role of the press, presidential election, political morality of the American people, corruption, and racial identity. The government affairs consist of aspects like equality, security, democracy, liberty and work ethic. Therefore, the book Primary Colors has projected these elements through its various themes.
Alternatively, this book is paramount for government based studies because it gives a vivid conspiracy on how various leaders like the president can commit crimes without public knowledge and get away with it. Additionally, it shows how the government manipulates the media even though they have a guaranteed freedom based on the Bill of Right as highlighted in the American constitution. The United State is synonymous with social diversity. Hence, the book has ensured it highlights the problems faced by United States leaders in their quest to establish unity between the different races. Therefore, this is the book is the convenient choice in any government based studies.
Contrarily, there are various interesting segments of the book. For instance, Jack Stanton is the president of the country who has a wife named Susan Stanton.

However, he instantly has an affair with Cashmere McLeod who was one of his campaign secretariats (Klein, 123). The government through its devious maneuvers they manage to manipulate reporters who were fast to respond to this allegation. Even the first lady was quite about her husband cheating habit because she knew this could damage his reputation in the midst of him being elected in the presidential campaign. All the staff’s member who witnessed or had a suspicion of Stanton and McLeod affair were influenced not to disclose the information to anyone in the quest to preserve the president morality profile (Klein, 263). Additionally, Stanton is also faced with the allegation of corruption. In the past, he successfully closed some questionable real estate business contract.
In short, Stanton was facing corruption charges, but through his campaign advisor`s Burton, he managed to win the nomination without any public scrutiny. Lastly, the Stanton is also facing paternity accusation and is always an unquestionably known womanizer. However, all these negative traits are hidden from public eye, and the man is still elected to lead the country.

In summary, the book Primary Color is based on Jack Stanton who is a fictional personality of Bill Clinton. Therefore, Jack Stanton is in the midst of running for a presidential seat. He is assisted with Henry Burton who serves as his campaign advisor. In that campaign period, Stanton is faced with many scandals like sex scandals, paternity accusations, and corrupt questionable deals (Klein, 303). Klein, the author, has projected Jack Stanton character has the youthful, determined and intelligent person who has a sense of awe. Additionally, Stanton shows personal immoral behaviors that disqualify him as a perfect natural candidate for the president seat. He vigorously showcases his deal making ability through influencing everyone to believe in his quest to achieve his visions that were outlined in his manifesto.
Furthermore, despite his cheating and corrupt life, Burton manages to project him as a talented candidate on their path to election. Henry Burton was an intelligent individual who was also the grandson of a former civil right popular leader. Even though he lacked advanced education from credited a university, he managed to join Stanton as a campaign adviser. Together, Burton and Stanton were able to neutralize scurrilous attacks from their opposing opponents. One of the segments, Burton finds Stanton half naked with a librarian called McLeod in the campaign headquarters (Klein, 173). Cashmere McLeod was a 17-year-old babysitter and a librarian from one of the schools that Stanton had attended in his campaign period He ignores the awkward situation, ignoring the fact that Stanton has a wife named Susan Stanton.
According to the author, Susan Stanton is a strong, educated woman. She does her best to ensure her husband is elected into office. For instance, she is seen campaigning for her husband in one of the elite party meetings (Klein, 293). In the midst of the election, Burton is introduced to Libby Holden who manages public relation affairs for Stanton. Her prime duties were to handle attacks from other opponents, but she had the problem of operating under moral codes. For instance, the main opponent for Stanton suffered a paralyzing heart attracts condition, and the party replaced him with an individual who seemingly impeccable had a righteous trait(Klein, 102).
After a series of private investigation, Libby Holden was able to uncover that the opposing candidate had a strange past such homosexuality and drug abuse. The showcasing of this finding was a significant advantage for Stanton team. However, Libby Holden refused to leak this news stating that such actions go against her moral codes. Therefore, Libby Holden influence Richard Jemmons her colleague to look for other means to improve Stanton damaged profile. Together, they manipulated the media to discredit the affair accusation. More ever, even though Stanton was unquestionably a prevaricator and womanizer, the team of Libby Holden and Richard Jemmons managed to clean his name through using evasive maneuvers (Klein, 373).
In the process of cleaning, Stanton damaged profile Burton who was also in the public relation section of the campaign team was left questioning his moral beliefs. For instance, Libby Holden and Richard Jemmons forced Burton and other Stanton`s employees not to disclose the actual truth about Stanton`s side affair. According to Burton, this was a grand betrayal of his inner beliefs (Klein, 323).
In relation to my class teachings, the book Primary Color has effectively projected the concept of authority and legitimacy (Bardes, Mack, and Steffen, 11). For instance, the president must be elected through a fair and free election that range from primary political party election to the final election (Bardes, Mack, and Steffen, 11). In the book, Stanton was able to win the primary election to become the Democratic Party flag bearer. The book has not projected Stanton winning the final election, but it has also mentioned it in some segment (Klein, 374). On the other hand, Stanton is faced with various questionable accusations such side affairs, corrupt deals, pending paternity cases and womanizing accusation. Even though these accusations are true but they are not legitimate as per the constitution. Therefore, it will require Stanton`s enemies to use the court to prove that Stanton is guilty of all the accusations level on him.
Secondly, the element of Bill Right is also showcased in the book. For instance, freedom of the press is another law policy seen the book. The law is in place to ensure the government does not intimidate or manipulate the media (Bardes, Mack, and Steffen, 11). In the book, it projects how the government uses devious means to control the content delivered by the press. For instance, Libby Holden and Richard Jemmons forced Burton and other Stanton`s employees not to disclose the actual truth about Stanton side affair to the press (Klein, 323). Additionally, the press is feed with mere political propaganda instead of projecting the actual principles and visions contained by various contesting parties.
Thirdly, the element of diversity is shown in the book. The United State is synonymous with social diversity (Bardes, Mack, and Steffen, 11). Hence, the book has ensured it highlights the problems faced by United States leaders in their quest to establish unity between the different races. Burton who is from a mixed racial family is left in a dilemma between serving Stanton as his advisor or preserving his allegiance to the black people society (Klein, 374). The author has also used flashback to acknowledge Burton grandfather who was a known civil right activist in the past. This shows the quest to establish equality and freedom is progressive raising with time.
Lastly, the concept of work ethic is also contained in the constitution. In this clause, leaders are required to have high morality trait, especially for the presidential seat (Bardes, Mack, and Steffen, 11). In the book, Stanton`s morality is questionable even though he is smart and a politic genius, and his morality is poor (Klein, 23). This shows how the leader uses public relation stands to hide significant crimes like corruption, immorality, and abuse of office in their regime.

In conclusion, I would recommend this book to any who is pleased with government conspiracy book or anyone who wants to be educated on election strategies. In the book, the character of Libby Holden is a perfect exhibition of a professional campaign advisor and publicist. Even though she knows how handles opponents, but she does it under her morality codes. This means she does not play dirty as expected in any political game. Hence, the author was trying to suggest that it does not require dirty maneuver to win an election, but through working smart, it can offer you an elected seat. Therefore, this book has some moral values for students who are undertaking political science studies to utilize.
