In response to your work, I fully concur with your assessment. The age difference ensures adolescents are given better care when compared to the older individuals. Your argument presents priorities advocated for in a society that favors youth treatment over the olds. As argued, the young are at the start of their prime, with so much left for them to accomplish, the old on the other hand have enjoyed most of their lifespan (Ricketts & Ricketts, 2010). The assessment presents the best reason to why self-concept for adolescents was better when compared to the old.

I agree with your work assessment on life-threatening illness. Most individuals are in the habit of living in the moment. Some are afraid of taking risks while others are more concerned about living making the most out of their lives. However, whenever life-threatening illness comes crushing, most individuals are left helpless, not knowing how they should act. As you have pointed out when faced with uncertainty when analyzing a life that has already been lived, many deliberate on what values should have been emphasized coupled with why one exists (Sloan et al., 2017).

I agree with your assessment. While healthy people rarely consider the implications of their lives, the looming death brought about by chronic illnesses tend to make people reevaluate their perception of life.

Being old and sick often is a burden the concerned family, and in many cases, people are depressed by their helplessness to do anything to help their families better handle the situation. Depending on the person, some will rectify their ways while others will do nothing to change their lives (Doka, 2013). Not learning from near death experiences by some people such as your brother illustrates how diversity in people leads to different decisions.
