Introduction
For many years, many individuals have complained on gender disparities in Hollywood. The Polygraph organization conducted a study that analyzed over 2,000 scripts based on gender and age. The analysis showed some stark contrasts between the male and female gender. The study proves that Hollywood favors male dialogue over that of the women.
Analysis
The study shows how films over-index men in Hollywood. Most of the scripts contain more words for the male actors compared to the female actresses. That explains the kind of discrimination that usually occurs in the media and film industry. The producers, scriptwriters, and directors favor men more than women. For example, the movies 10 things I hate About You and Pretty Women have women as the lead characters, and yet men have more dialogues that the actresses (Anderson and Daniels, 2016). The insight shows that the movies always try to overshadow the impact that women have on films.
The statistics provided by the research highlight the sexism propagated by Hollywood. The analysis of the Disney films watched by a significant number of people across the world indicates some male dominance in dialogue. For instance, twenty-two out of thirty movies contained male-dominated dialogue. Even when they have lead female characters, they tend to assert some male qualities in her (Anderson and Daniels, 2016). In the movie Mulan, a lady plays the leading role yet the dialogue depicts men and the man who acts as the dragon exhibits more words than her.

The data shown by the researchers show that the films tend to place women in second place. Anderson and Daniels (2016) highlight that women only lead regarding dialogue in twenty-two percent of the movies. Most of the films with more female dialogue have lead women actresses. However, men dialogue lead in more films even when they have minor roles.
Conclusion
The study proves that Hollywood gives little attention to the female gender. They try to assert male dialogue in most of the scripts, and that shows some sexism. The research provides a basis for activists to change the negative Hollywood culture.
