“Genesis” is the first book of the Pentateuch, which tells about the mythological way of creating the universe, the Planet, and humanity. Each book from the Pentateuch of Moses has its name, and it differs slightly from the source. As commonly recognized by Christians and Jews the book was written in by Moses on his way with the Jewish people through Sinai to Israel. The original language of the book is Biblical Hebrew.
The book “Genesis” is writing about the creation of the world and man, the history of the Israeli tribes and the description of the process of their transformation into a single nation. The key question of the book is the genesis of humanity, the role of God in it and the way the God sees the future and the role of humanity. Genesis provides the answer to this question with the creation of the sublime concept of human. A man was created “in the image of God” (Genesis 1:26, 27); he is entrusted with the right to use natural resources (1:26, 28, 29). The creation of man requires special efforts of God, a person directly from Him receives the breath of life (Genesis 2: 7). These lines from the Genesis are intended to support the concept of the God’s will in the life of human being and the dependence of humanity on the God’s.
The result of the answer given in the Genesis is the subordinate role of human will in the development of humanity. Numerous examples from the pre-Moses period of the Jewish (which in Bible represented as humanity) history demonstrate that when people wish to give up following the God’s will and if they go too far, the God uses his power to correct the historical way of his best creature.
