Decision support systems enhance and support the decisions managers reach at (Al-Mamary, Aziati &Shamsuddin, 2014). With a business environment that tends to be more volatile and contemporary, having in place this system is important.
Human Resource data and HRIS system
Human resource data enable an organization to process the particulars for its workforce easily. This eases and quickens various management practices such as compensation, promotion, and recruitment and also identifying individuals who need training.
Employee Electronic Profiles
An organization ought to have an EPP system where personalized employees’ information ranging from their health data, educational achievements, etc. is stored for easy access by them whenever required and convenient by them.
Decision support systems will accord the organization a new direction on how it is managed through proper management of the knowledge available and ensuring the available strategies are collaborated to sustain both long-term and short-term forecasting (Karim, 2011). Employee Electronic Profiles, on the other hand, reduces the paperwork during times of employee retirement or termination as a result of illness. This is quickened to a greater degree because the information can easily be accessed. However, issues such as breach of data arise as a result of sharing the stored information without the authorization of the individual. It is also unethical to share false information about an individual to defame them. Privacy issues also arise as employers are not certain who is eligible to access the data. The organization can, however, ensure that in place there is penalty set for an individual found guilty of contravening the data privacy of others.
