Pros
One of the greatest benefits to the Canadian patients, Cancer, and AIDS is the reduced prices when purchasing prescription drugs. Many of the Pharmaceuticals are selling these drugs at a price that is significantly lower, even more than 70% the initial price and the American price (Dehoney Financial Group 1). The prig cap that has been set by the government has ensured that the drugs are among the cheapest available.
Another advantage is that it has reduced illegal purchase and use of these drugs. Before, people had the luxury to use drugs for other purposes. A common example is Marijuana that could be used as a drug for fun instead of treatment (Hajizadeh 453). These legislations have curbed misuse of the drug, even overdose. Reports have shown that some patients may deliberately take more doses of drugs when the drugs were not under prescriptions. This helps the pharmacists monitor use of these drugs. This also elevates the patient’s right to safety
Cons
One of the cons, otherwise suppressed, is that the consumers’ rights have, to some extent, been violated. The constitution dictates that they have a right to choice hence these legislations appeared to be an unwarranted intrusion of this right. Apart from that, the legislation has opened doors for corruption in the sector. People may fake illnesses just to acquire the drugs to be used for leisure-marijuana. In some cases, they may fake a doctors’ prescription and get the drugs to resell to people in the rural areas where these drugs are inaccessible.

Personal opinion
Despite there being negative effects of the laws, I feel that these laws work for the general good of the Canadian citizens. Even if some may take advantage of the laws for personal benefits, the advantages generally surpass the negatives. One issue I strongly agree with is the fact that cancer medications have been expensive and unaffordable. These laws have reduced the cost by a huge deal. People who are against the legislation on prescriptions may probably be doing illegal business with the drugs and are unappreciative of the government’s efforts.
Summarize report and findings of Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan offers a number of health services to its permanent residents like people in government wards, inmates in correction institutions among others. Some of these include inpatients and outpatient medical services, HIV testing, drug, and alcohol abuse treatment, mental health services, 12 treatments for chiropractic services each ear among others. For drugs, beneficiaries enjoy different benefits according to their plans- individuals aged 18 years and below get benefit prescriptions for free while adults pay at least 2$ for each. Additionally, other benefits like surgical dressings, female contraceptives, and ostomy supplies are enjoyed by patients if they have a prescription from an authorized health professional. Some partial services offered are air ambulance services at a fee, chiropodist services were free until 1st July 2017, hearing and dental services. for hearing services, they are eligible to only one exam each year However, they do not cover for prescription drugs-differs depending on the plan and age, routine dental services, eye glasses, and lenses.
