Security Consultant
A security consultant is a person or a group of people who have expert knowledge about a certain field of security, and they offer security advice to their clients (Grayson 1). Their work is to advise and supervise all security measures necessary to protect their client from security threats and also create protocols and plans for preventing or dealing with them when they occur. A security consultant has the responsibility of analyzing a client’s needs, threats to their assets and identifying which security measures are needed. He or she can use perimeter fences, video surveillance, intrusion detection or system integration depending on the client’s security needs (Grayson 1). Secondly, a security consultant establishes security protocols and plans to protect the client or their assets. As Smith says, a security consultant’s day involves keeping a good summary of accomplishments, giving recommendations to the client and proposing the next steps (Smith 1). Similarly, he or she performs risk management to minimize risks, keeps up to date with the latest security standards and also creates all-hazard responses to crisis and emergencies (Bencie 1).
Wealthy individuals and organizations are the common targets of terrorists, and thus organizations need security consultants due to the increased crime rate. According to Sullivan (1), human beings do not perceive risks rationally that is why they need security consultants to help them distinguish which risks to prevent first.

Similarly, security consultants can spot red flags in employees who might be planning to damage a business. Also, everything around a business can pose a threat, and it’s the work of security consultants to protect it from external and internal threats such as fraud. Similarly, hiring a security consultant saves the organization money and time because they can deal with its lawsuits and blackmails.
Security consultants can provide an unbiased view of one’s security needs and provide measures for dealing with them (Grayson 1). These measures protect the individual or organization from security threats. In contrast, hiring security consultants can be pricey due to their skills and knowledge. Similarly, an organization loses when a consultant leaves because of the training and experience he or she has gained in their stay.
People need to ask themselves this question. Due to increased terrorist activities, is seeking help from security consultants the best option they have especially for big organizations and wealthy people?Works Cited
