self – esteem: we see what we do not have

The issue that I will address is about how I think some of the insecurities of adolescents today, I consider that the issue of self – esteem is quite important and more in this age where it is something that most of us worry too much. My goal is to try to understand the issue a little more thorough.

Usually, whatever our age, it is difficult for us to see and value everything we have, we are constantly lookingof material things, in this case I would like to focus on physical aspects.

The simplest example is that of hair: people with straight hair want it undulating it and those who have it undulating it want to straight it. Why? One of the reasons could be because they want a small change, it is normal to wantWe seek to be different, and not necessarily to excel, but to follow a stereotype.

Returning to the above, it is well known that there are too many stereotypes within society, and no matter how much we do not want, it is a fact that thanks to social networks this is much more facilitated. Maybe some ensure that they do not have or follow stereotypes, and this can be true however, as stereotypes enter our lives unconsciously and by different means. According to a survey in Spain "three out of four teenagers are not satisfied with their reflection, and 73 percent of adolescents do not like their physical appearance …" (Arrieta C, 2017)

Unquestionably it is okay to do what makes you feel happy and sure with yourself as long as it is not to try to fit, it is well to want to belong to a group, but it is not justification to change and stop being you only for the approval of others

Wait! Self – Esteem: We See What We Do Not Have paper is just an example!

Briefly, the only thing we see is what we do not have while we do not know how to appreciate everything we already have and do to oursstanding out. Why are we happy not being us? Why is it so difficult to love us even knowing how different we are from each other?

Definitely self – esteem among adolescents is something quite important and we must take into account, as I mentioned previously most young people are not happy with their physique, in my opinion it would be a good idea to implement talks about self-love or at least help usAmong ourselves to recognize that we try to fit into certain stereotypes that society has created over the years, it is very important to learn to love with what we were born, because the exterior deteriorates and ages, but the soul never dies.
