Self-Reflection of Own Thoughts

Abstract
The paper is self-reflection of my leadership style and my thoughts about the method. Basically, there are three types of leadership styles and they include authoritarian, democratic, and laissez-faire leadership styles. I have reflected on a democratic style of leadership as my style. I consider it useful because it allows every member to participate in the process of decision-making. The agreements made in a process are thus binding to all members. The member will have increased morale and will be dedicated to the process because they feel a part of it. The free exchange of ideas and inclusive discussions makes the process to have higher productivity compared to all the other leadership styles. The style of leadership makes all the group members feel more engaged in the group processes since they participate by giving their opinions. However, the group members need to possess the relevant skills and knowledge for the leadership style to be productive.
Self-Reflection of Own Thoughts
People have different leadership styles that they use in interacting with other people in an organization. The three basic types of leadership that determine the decision-making process include democratic, authoritarian, and laissez-faire styles. In the democratic style of leadership, decisions are made through a participatory approach. The leader considers ideas from all the people that are concerned before making decisions (Goleman, 2017).

Wait! Self Reflection Of Own Thoughts Coursework Example paper is just an example!

In the authoritarian style of leadership, the leader makes all the major group decisions and expects everyone to follow them without question. The group members do not offer any input in the decision-making process. In laissez-faire style of leadership, the group members are allowed to make their own decisions without the involvement of the leader.
I consider myself to possess the democratic style of leadership. For a process to be successful, all the group members must be incorporated by allowing them to offer inputs into the process (Goleman, 2017). The decisions that have been made become binding. No group member will feel that they are being forced into a process that they abhor. Therefore, each member will be dedicated to the process by implementing all the decisions that have been made. Every person feels that they have been accorded a chance to participate through a free exchange of ideas and inclusive discussions. I consider the democratic style of leadership to be most effective since it increases group morale hence higher productivity compared to other methods.
The style of leadership makes all the group members feel more engaged in the group processes. Members who are creative are rewarded for their skills and knowledge. There are virtues that democratic leaders have to possess and they include: honesty, courage, fairness, competence, creativity, and intelligence (Goleman, 2017). However, it should be noted that the democratic style of leadership works best when the group members possess the appropriate skills and knowledge.
