Sikhism and Baha’i
Monotheistic religions of Sikhism and Baha’i are the most recent form of young religions in the world. Sikhism religion traced back in the 15th century and apprehends a basic belief of one God whereas Baha’i ultimately believes in the central teachings of the unity of God (Kaplun 8). This discussion elaborates on some questions respect to the monotheistic religions above.
The monotheistic religions have some similarities. Both the religions reveal sympathetic attitude about the universal spiritual being. They describe their God as being compassionate on individual’s dwelling. Furthermore, they both have a similar view of women. In their context, women should be religiously treated the same way as men as they share a common soul. Therefore, both the religions inhibit some simulacrums.
On my viewpoint, I think the future of both religions is dimming. Some of their norms are in contrary to current society’s rules, for example, Sikhism carries a sword, which is only accepted in India. This limits their rights of worship hence diminishing their future growth. Mysticism plays a part in both religions. It creates a level of conscious wakefulness of one divine being. They type of mystical devotion draws a man close to God in both monotheistic religions. Therefore, it is evident in most of the spiritual practices.
