The Life of Carolyn Harrell
Let me tell you about the life of a beautiful lady I have recently met. Her name was Carolyn Harrell, and she had me mesmerized with the first words, as we started talking. She is one of those people you really want to listen to and talk to. I asked her if she ever considered being a psychologist, well, I might as well be a psychic, because I almost guessed – she told me her major was Nursing. I was not surprised at all, I, in fact, would trust my life to someone like her.
Suddenly, while we were standing and chatting on the street, I noticed that something started constantly distracting the young woman from our talk – she was turning her head away all the time. I was afraid that I was not much of an interesting interlocutor or I did not make the best first impression, and Carolyn was looking for a place to escape from me. However, the look in her eyes was rather comforting stating that this person only had good intentions. I mean, she studies Nursing for a reason. When I finally figured out what was the reason for Carolyn’s distraction, I chuckled a bit – she was trying to figure out where the happy ice-cream truck sound was coming from.
“Oh, excuse me, while I get some ice-cream? I’m really craving one right now, ” she said with such joy, it made me want one too. She was away for half a minute and came back with a huge colorful cone of ice-cream – it seemed that it was a material copy of a real rainbow.

She was holding the desert with the tremendous smile on her face. I was almost sure she was five years old, not 27. Carolyn is the type of people pleasant to be around. Such people have much energy. Thus, you unwillingly start to enjoy your life fully too, forgetting everything you have on your mind. Full of sugar and pure happiness, she told me about her life. Carolyn was born in sunny California, which explains her infinite love for ice-cream. What can be better than a sweet, cold treat on a flesh-meltingly warm day? Even though she came back to California only when she got married, old habits take over sooner or later, either you want it or not. Carolyn was raised by her grandmother in Texas since she was two years old, and you would think that such climate change and lack of mother’s attention would impact girl’s life. Fortunately, she turned out a happy woman, who now can take care of her family with her three lovely boys. Her relationship with her mother is still warm, and she has quite a close relationship with her dad, despite her not growing up with her parents. For the past six years, she has been living together with her mom, but Carolyn figured out it is about time she buys her own house. There is not enough room for everyone, considering she also has three dogs and three cats. Can anyone imagine a mess three children and six animals can make? Nursing seemed like a perfect idea for a major and further career, looking back at the background story of Carolyn Harrell.
We were standing at the same spot we had come across each other when I noticed something odd – our shadows were in the completely different place, the sun started setting. We both had to go, but I knew for sure that it was not our last time conversation. When we parted, I was left with the feeling that I knew Carolyn since we were little kids minding our business in the park. Moreover, that is for sure the feeling you want to last forever.
