The significant question that was addressed in the slaves’ interview is the violence and the suffering that was inflicted on the slaves by their masters. The interview tells the experiences of the slaves from the first-person account. These experiences were captured during the slavery days using the available technology. However, modern technology has been used to make the recordings clearer.
The interviewees make an assumption that slavery is understood by descendants of the slaves more than any other generation. The interviewees also assume that the audience knows the people who are being mentioned. Another assumption is that the technology that was initially used to record the experiences of the slaves would store accurate information and tell the story of slavery as it was. However, these interviews reveal that the technology that was used for recording was not perfect, but it played a critical role in telling the story of slavery to other generations.
The primary concept discussed in the interviews with the enslaved is their living conditions while they were in slavery. The interviewees talk about how they worshipped in the field. Slaves were mistreated, and they slept on the floor (Brands et al., 2015). Additionally, the slaves reveal their masters tortured and whipped them. These interviews are extremely significant because they help the current generation to have a better understanding of history. They give a clearer picture of what happened during slavery.

The audience is able to understand the magnitude of slavery and the effect that it had on those who were enslaved. Additionally, these interviews help the audience to understand and appreciate the significance of freedom. The audience is able to recognize the sacrifices that their ancestors made to secure their freedom.
