Introduction
Loneliness and isolation in older adults is an increasingly frequent fact, because at this stage a series of experiences and changes occur that cause the appearance of this feeling. Isolation presents harmful health effects such as: decreased cognitive impression, depression and dementia, loss of independence or increased care needs, thus becoming a risk factor for mortality and morbidity.
Loneliness is an increasingly studied and investigated issue by different authors, which determine that isolation and loneliness can affect human health and behaviors. However, there are no studies where it is clearly detailed to what extent these factors are associated with these ways.
The objective of this scientific article is to establish the impact of social isolation and loneliness on older adults in order to delimit the causes and consequences that cause health and behavior problems and this way knowing interventions and strategies that can help solve this problem .
Material and methods
The method is quantitative since this will provide us with information on the causes and consequences that cause health problems, in addition to the impact and mechanism of action of the interventions that can be carried out for isolation and loneliness. The material used for this article allows us to include various methodologies, which will provide us with results about what you want to analyze.

To carry out this research, three measurement materials will be used, which are: UCLA scale, social isolation index and interventions form. The first method will be the UCLA scale, which is a global measurement instrument that evaluates the sensation of loneliness to know the elderly population that lives alone, the second method is the social isolation index that will investigate civil status, frequency of frequency ofContacts with friends, family and participation in social activities and finally apply the interventions form that evaluates the type of intervention that can be applied for each case according to all these materials in order to obtain results .
As for the population, 300 participants were evaluated, including men 150 and women 150 between the Middle Ages 69 years of Ecuador.
Results
As soon as the results find that social isolation such as loneliness is associated with mortality with a large percentage number was determined that 100 % of people evaluated 58 % have a large number of isolation which allows predicting a high risk of mortalityEarly, while 42 % its isolation is not so notorious, however, some adjustments of demographic, economic and health factors were made, in order to determine which social isolation undoubtedly affects survival.
These results were obtained taking into account several factors such as: age and gender, thus resulting as different measurement approaches, thus doubts about the contribution of loneliness and social isolation, cause risk of mortality and that more research is necessary .
