Solid and Hazardous Waste
This involves all the industrial by-products more especially coming from the chemical manufacturing industries that are destructive to nature (environment) or poses a great danger to the health of animal or individuals (EMS Environmental, Inc). These include the garbage or sludge or refuse or any other discharged materials that are as a result of the commercial, agricultural, industrial and mining operations and from the activities of the surrounding communities. The term solid waste may not only be limited to just solid wastes but also other forms such as semi-liquid, liquid and gaseous materials. These pose a significant threat or risk to the health of the environment, people and animals (Johnson). Thus, results in massive destructions, and loss of lives and many other side effects arising out of pollution. This problem is common in some areas of Toronto with many industries which have led to the reduction in the standards of living of the people living in these areas.
However, intense efforts have been put forward to reduce the problem of environment destructions. For instance, strong regulations such as RCRA have been established as the management standards of the hazardous waste mostly for the companies that are found generating these wastes (Environmental Protection Agency). These regulations against the generators help to ensure that there is the appropriate identification of the hazardous wastes and they are being handled more safely such that there is the reliable protection of the environment and human health (Rao).

These hazards are regulated according to the amount of waste that is hazardous which can be generated in a month by the facility or business.
Conclusively, there is an increase in the threats against the health of the environment, people and animals due to the increase in the dumping of Solid and Hazardous Waste from the business facilities. However, several steps have put in place to regulate the occurrence and impact of the problem.
