Spectrum disorder refers to a range of various mental disorders that to some extent include traits and symptoms that are similar. The features are normally shared and appear similar along its spectrum and in most cases said to be caused by the underlying mechanism that is similar (Kogan, Blumberg, Schieve, Boyle, Perrin, Ghandour, & Dyck, 2009). There has been a dramatic and an alarming rise in the rate at which the diagnosis of spectrum disorder is occurring. Research indicates that spectrum disorder occurs as a result of genetic dispositions caused by the environmental factors, I think they are these factors that have changed. The adoption of the western style diet with no required nutrients, taking in many colorings, preservatives, additives and many chemicals is on the increase (Kogan, Blumberg, Schieve, Boyle, Perrin, Ghandour, & Dyck, 2009). I think the rate of rising in diagnosis can be due to the increased awareness of the disorders getting more children to be diagnosed with the spectrum disorder. This means today many children go for diagnosis than it used to be sometimes back. The increase can also be associated with substitution of diagnosis where a person who was diagnosed and found having another mental problem is diagnosed today and labeled with the spectrum disorder. Therefore, it is not clear why the rise in diagnosis of spectrum disorders is being experienced unless in-depth research is done and the real cause unveiled.

I do not think that it is just right to include students with behavioral disorders in the general education classroom. This inclusion would be very much unfavorable especially when they are being attended to by the general teachers who have not received any training on the handling of students with behavioral disorders. It should also be noted that students with behavioral disorder depict different characters and do things different from normal students. It, therefore, becomes difficult for them to mix and work together. General schools do not have the special facilities and caregivers which makes it difficult for the behavioral disorder students to gain the proper education. For students with behavioral disorders to be successful in all environments, they should be given special attention different from the normal students. This includes being attended to be the teachers who are specially trained to handle their respective disorders (Eller, Fisher, Gilchrist, Rozman, & Shockney, 2016). These students as well need be assigned to the occupational therapists that would help them feel they are not different from others. The families of such students also need to be fully involved in the learning of these students since their family members understand them more than just the teachers.

Communication has a lot of impact on how a person behaves and socializes with others. First, communication is very important in building the relationship with others and creating a social network with friends, relatives and any person around you. People tend to communicate in different ways when in a particular situation. For instance, a child who wants something will cry, and that is the communication with the mother. We all behave differently depending on the ability one has to communicate. Also, it is through the ability to communicate that one will make friends, get help or pass the message to another thus creating that relationship. There have been various strategies that have been used to reduce the effects communication deficit has on a person. The strategies include the functional communication training which recruits the expressive language skills a person has. The person is then trained in communication by carefully selecting some phrases based on expressive skills of a person. Interpretive strategies also work well where various structures are employed to help capture the attention of the individual and share the experience. These strategies make use of photos, icons, and drawings among others to help a person interpret the information. Also, such individuals can use the alternative communication devises to communicate.
