Stomach ulcer
A stomach ulcer is a sore that is developed in the stomach or the small intestine. The most common type of ulcer is the peptic ulcer. It occurs “as a result of the reduction of the thick mucus layer that protects the stomach walls”. It occurs “as a result of infection with a bacterium known as Helicobacter pylori as well as the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for a longer time” (Marcin, 2017). The disease also develops as a result of too much hunger that the patient had undergone. During the hunger, the acid responsible for digestion of food in the stomach is release hence it eats the stomach walls thereby causing the sore in the stomach. The constant digestion of the stomach walls result in constant wound leading to ulcer of the stomach
The signs and symptoms include stomach pain, loss of weight, nausea, bloating, heartburn, and feeling easily full. The diagnosis of the disease depends on the symptoms that are experienced by the patient, and therefore the intervention of the patient is recommended (Marcin, 2017). The symptoms of this disease also depend on how severe and the stage at which the disease has reached. For instance, heartburn occurs at the initial stages where the disease starts to develop while in the mature stage, the symptoms include nausea, weight loss as well as severe stomach pain or the abdominal pain. The treatment plan should, therefore, be given by the doctor in relation to the symptoms that the patient experiences.

Surgical treatment can also be applied if the uses of drugs fail to bring healing. It is done by removing the entire ulcer and mapping another tissue on the part where the ulcer is removed.
