Who from us, mainly as little ones, have we not lifted the arm to greet the train passage? Possibly we have not approached or listened to a locomotive in years or decades, but that has not done loss in this pleasant sound memory.
The echo of this same sound memory can be heard bouncing from wall to wall at the Railroad Museum, crossing the street of the La Villa / Basilica Metro station, a few steps from this important religious sanctuary.
This old station, built in 1907, was part of a land belonging to the Hacienda de Santa Ana de Aragón, previously located in the jurisdiction of Guadalupe Hidalgo, now Mayor’s Office Gustavo A. Log.
This museum must be known as it shows us and tells us the story of the start of the railroad, for example what was its first journey that it had within the city and how roads were opened until almost the entire Republic, as the first fact the first Railroad only had two passenger cars and ran 7 kilometers on the famous mysteries road to the La Villa station, and so on until reaching the state of Veracruz.
Another reason why it is advisable to visit this museum is for the great photo gallery and models that show how this means of transportation was evolving and as it is currently, since even the type of whistle they used was reforming.
