Brain Psychology.
Beyond the Brain is an article that vividly explains how relying on one aspect of science to solve all of the human behavior is flawed. The writer introduces three main ideas that refute the concept that the brain controls every single action or feeling in a person. He explains every part of the cerebrum performs various different duties, a particular step can be due to two or more divisions of the same brain, and that diverse conditions can ultimately lead to the same behavior.
According to Brooks (1), each part of the brain is in charge of several jobs. The insula, for instance, is responsible for emotions like conviction, unacceptance, or even sympathy. Some functions also arise as a result of the collaboration between different parts of the brain. One might be angry because both the amygdala and the hippocampus are active. He also points out that brain activity differs. An individual can cause a car accident because they are either exhausted, very emotional, or merely careless.
The ideas presented in the conclusions reached at the end of the article are viable. A specific idea or thing can be mean more to the same person depending on the circumstances, a band-aid when one is bleeding may be more crucial than when they are not. I identify with Brooks’ theory that different states can result in the same action when I’m either tired, hungry or irritated I tend to get cranky. I also agree with his idea that one discipline, like neuroscience, cannot be solely used to provide theories as to why people behave in a certain way.
Wait! The Brain Pyschology paper is just an example!
It is, therefore, unwise to associate a particular behavior with a specific conclusion.
