Italian poet Filippo Tommaso Marinetti wrote the “Manifesto of Futurism” a manifesto published in 1909. In his work, the poet expressed an artistic futurism, and philosophy. He was rejecting the past that was characterized by slowness, labour extensive and peace. He acknowledged and celebrated the future, with attributes of speed, violence, youth, machine, and industry. The poem also advocated the cultural rejuvenation of Italy that would come with modernization. He wrote the poem in the mid of 1908 and later published as a preface to the volume of his poems in 1909. Italian newspaper by the name “Gazzetta dell’emilia” played a very important role in the publication of the manifesto.
Marinetti starts the manifesto with a story of a crashing car. The story is in relation to the points he raised in his manifesto “The Foundation and Manifesto of Futurism”. The glory he is seeing the future industrial age is seen in the story when he marvels at the arrival of the car. He even proclaimed that they are about to “witness the birth of a Centaur” (Marinetti, 1909). This section of the story has a relationship with the fourth point of the manifesto which is showing the admiration of the power of cars. The poet in the story speaks of speeding of the car through the night, (1909). It is important to the manifesto as it shows the reckless behavior, pursuit of danger, and love of speed (Marinetti, 1909).

In the story, the poet speaks of the transcending the “millennial darkness”, which has an association with the eighth point in the manifesto (Marinetti, 1909). The story summarizes and acts as an eye-opener to the reader on the manifesto as it speaks the mind and spirit of a futurist.

I need to work a lot; that’s why I really didn’t have a single minute to focus on my thesis writing. These guys from AnyCustomWriting are real saviors. I don’t know how they knew what my professor expected to receive, but they definitely succeeded.
