The four metaparadigms or concepts namely environment, health, nursing, and person are also applicable and essential in nursing education programs especially the theory part of it. The four concepts are crucial in imparting necessary techniques and methodology to the learners who would later practice patient care in the nursing profession.
On the concept of person, the main focus is the students to prepare them for the role of a nurse educator in development of staff as well as in academics roles. The subjects through the design are prepared in a specific setting for them to be very competent in their field. The educator here lays the firm, advanced and strong foundation to and for the learners through multiple disciplines like pathophysiology, pharmacology, and anatomy among other major units as well as the education focused-courses including curriculum development and integration and the principles of teaching (Iwasiw, Goldenberg & Andrusyszyn, 2014). To enhance mastering of these subjects the learners are assessed through assignments, exams, and laboratory practical’s and experiments as well as engaging them in several attachments in various education settings through the guidance of their mentor.
The environmental concept in nursing education may include those places that will enhance or improve learning the disciplines or unit that would prepare them to teach in the school of nursing. The learners are therefore taught in a hospital setting, anatomy laboratories and classrooms with necessary specimens crucial for learning such as mice and pigs.

The close relationship between the learners and the educators will greatly help to guide the learners into realizing their dreams and meet both possibilities and realities of their expectations. The performance will eventually reflect how the learners have been cooperating with the educator. Poor performance would always show that the learner is having a problem that needs close attention as soon as possible in a caring and positive way to motivate him or her ((Hayden et al., 2014).
Education is one of the fields which requires the learner to have a clear relationship between several theories they learn in the classroom and the practical part since they will be teaching students who would practice the nursing profession. The educators would expound on various definitions of nursing and the several concepts and disciplines it entails amongst which are anatomy, clinical rotation, physiology and other related fields. They demarcate clearly the boundaries of nursing to avoid irrelevance during the teaching process. Nursing education major targets imparting learners relevant and advanced skills and knowledge of passing on to other subjects whom they will teach in future in different educational environments (Iwasiw, Goldenberg & Andrusyszyn, 2014). The education also goes hand in hand with advancement in technology and teaching techniques and methodologies. Empowerment of the learners is done through the formation of a close and caring partnership between the educators and the learners in the learning process. Assessment of the learners through assignments, exams, and experiments as well as close communication is enhanced.
