Q3. The Three Principal Types of Social Stratification
Typically, there are three types of classification of social stratification, popularly known by every individual and they include the upper, middle and lower class. Well, lower class consist of individuals who face poverty and are sometimes known as the poor. People in this category are deprived their rights of living a wealthy life, undergo a lot of struggle which other classes do not experience due to facilities provided. The lower-class category is typified by homelessness, unemployment which results in poverty. In most cases, people in the lower class are those who finish education in ow academic levels, but lack opportunities to proceed to learn due to inadequate resources. Consequently, they suffer from a lack of facilities such as medical care, vocational training, proper housing, decent clothing, safety, and food.
A middle class, on the other hand, involve a group of people, who neither do they come under needy individuals or upper class. Instead, this group of individuals undergoes sets of struggles in life and they are not much influential or deprived in the society (Sharma, Avijit and Arbind 22). The fact is, middle-class people outnumbers that of both upper and lower class. Middle group individuals are also white-collar workers, and though they may not be wealthier than those above them, their income subdivides them into lower and upper middle class. Lower middle-class people are less educated than the upper middle group.
Wait! The three Principal types of Social Stratification paper is just an example!
The third type of social stratification is the upper class, which have influential people whose most power lies in their hands. The upper class has a good connection in the society making their function or operations get done fast.
In conclusion, some basis in the society exists depending on distinct power and rights differences which exist between various subgroups. Like during the early days in foreign lands, power lied in the hands of the upper class and that way discrimination was openly seen adding to social stratification. Stratification may not necessarily get recognized on the basis of race or caste but also by sex when females and males receive unequal rights in the society.
