How to Be a Host that throws A Successful Child Birthday Party
Introduction
Throwing a party is not a knee jerk reaction, but is a process that needs a lot of prior planning to make it successful. In normal circumstances, the planning of the party is the work of the host. Hosts plan the parties on behalf of the guest of honors. In a birthday party, the host can be either the father or the mother to the child, and the celebrating child would be the guest of honor. Planning and throwing a successful birthday party would be best carried out in three phases. The first phase is to make decisions, the second is to prepare for the party, and lastly, the third phase involves throwing the party.
Phase 1: Deciding the Birthday Party Type and Style
A successful party begins from the time the host creates a budget according to the available finances. Sticking to that budget is of prime importance to avoid overspending that would make the host not to enjoy the party, as well as making the party boring if something necessary misses. Also, the budget will help the host to make a decision on the location based on the available cash (Shone 217). When making a choice on location, it should be one convenient to the guest of honor as well as the other guests. Party location can be in the family house or at one of the best friend’s place. If the child is at school, or at work, the host should consider if they would fancy their birthday parties in such places beforehand.

The host should also choose a time that is convenient for the guest of honor and the other guests, as well as the other users of the chosen location. The chosen time should ensure that the party should not disrupt learning process if the child is in school, or work process if the child is already working. Before making a guest list and sending out invitations, the host should also decide on the theme. The party colors should consider what color the child is most comfortable with, and preferably their choice colors. Invitations letters can then be sent out to the family members who wish to reconnect through the party.
Phase 2: Preparing for the Birthday Party
It is important for the host to remember to call for help at some point to make the party successful. At least, prior planning for the cameraman, purchases, supervision of the children and guests would be important but are not achievable single-handedly. Relatives, friends, parents, work colleagues and any other reliable person who may be of great help can be involved. The host should make a list of supplies and preferably get them a day before the party. The supplies should also contain the desired source of entertainment, drinks and standup comedy if needed. People who should be giving speeches should also be ready at least a day before the occasion to help in allocating them time in the schedule. The venue is then cleaned and decorated, giving enough time for making corrections and improvements. Final preparations should be conducted to ensure that everything is well and fine for the day. Phase 3: Hosting the birthday party
When going out for the party, dress to the occasion by considering the theme color. For a birthday party, comfort is more important than being overly classy, especially if younger children will be involved in the occasion. When guests start arriving, the host must welcome them, show them around, and make them seated and comfortable and possible talk to them to reassure them of their valued presence. Guests would feel more comfortable if they are recognized and cared for by the host. Being warm, open and outgoing makes the guests to the party happier and more involved (Shone 217). As the party progresses, try to stick to the schedule as much as possible as lateness in the schedule may see some guests leaving before the occasion ends. Let all the speakers prepare before their time, to avoid time wastages searching for the people to talk.
Conclusion
Once everything is almost complete, create a session for a photoshoot, followed by the present giving session. The guest of honor should open all the presents in the eyes of the guests. Older children may prefer to open gifts later. Ensure that there is a vote of thanks and follow up the party with an appreciation note to all those who attended the party. Appreciating the guests makes ground for another successful party next time.
