Memorable Adventures across the Europe
Introduction
The diversity of Europe cannot be matched by any continent when it comes to the pure convenience. Europe boasts of so many attractions in the form of beautiful cultures, iconic architectures, physical features, languages, historical landmarks, and scenic coastlines. Touring Europe with all of these varieties of attractive features can indeed be overwhelming; however, the best way to approach is to take it slow. Most of the European countries are offering historical landmarks by preserving the ancient world for the modern generation. In this paper, four different tourism destinations across the four European countries will be covered. These destinations include Paris in France, Munich in Germany, Venice in Italy, and Schaffhausen in Switzerland. Besides covering these four destinations, my experiences in these destinations will also be featured (Ryan 431).
Paris, France
Paris is not only the capital city of France but also the France’s most popular city across the globe. Paris is located in area ofapproximately41 square miles. Besides, by the year 2013, Paris had a population of about 2,229,621. Paris is, without doubt, one of the famous and iconic cities across the globe. It is in the same category as other cities such as the Rome, NewYork, Barcelona, Las Vegas, London, and Washington DC. It is one of the most famous attraction sites across Europe. Some of the attraction sites that are found in Paris include the iconic Eiffel Tower, the Champse-Elysees, and the Louvre (Pearce 457).

Though there are other attraction sites within the Paris, these three are the most famous ones and any individual visiting Paris cannot miss visiting them. However, there are other historic sites such as the Cathedral Note-Dame. It is worth noting that Cathedral Note-Dame was built in the year 1163, which provides an aperfect site to review the some of the rich historical aspects of the city (Swarbrooke 351). After its restoration, it regained its lost glory, and from them, it represented one of the places that are most visited in Paris (Pearce 459). The great architecture of Paris is also another attraction. France has one of the best infrastructures in the world. As a result, transportation across the city is not a problem. There are varieties of transport means available in Paris that includes bus services, metro, or even the regional trains. Moreover, there are super hotels that are offering discounted services, especially during midweek or out of season holidays (Pearce 459).
Adventure Story in Paris
It was to be my last stay in Paris and I had visited most of the famous attractions such as the Eiffel Tower, the Champse-Elysees, and the Louvre. So I decided that visiting the monumental Eiffel Tower would do no harm. The city was very busy even though it was at night. Though I was visiting Paris for the first time, I felt a strange sense of security from the manner at which the people were very welcoming. As I stepped out of my hotel, I experienced why Paris is always referred to as the City of Lights. I took a metro with the help of my tour guide to the Eiffel Tower. From this point, everything was magical and everywhere was twinkling and the majestic architecture of Paris did not disappoint. I could not believe that this was indeed a human creation. I was then guided to the second floor of the tower where the highlight of the City of Lights was magical against the dark sky. I could not help but to take numerous photographs.
Munich, Germany
Munich is both the Bavarian capital city and largest city. When compared to the rest of the German cities, Munich comes third after Berlin and the Hamburg regards to the size. However, when compared to the rest of the European cities, it comes 12th. Munich has a population of approximately 1.5 million (Travis 219). It is arguable that Munich is the best travel destination in the whole of Germany. It is best known as the city of the big heart. Moreover, it is also a city with a modern cosmopolitan with not only one of the greatest long tradition, but also a great tradition. Munich as a travel destination always does not disappoint. This is because it has varieties of attractions that has a unique combination of blend and contrasts (Richards 10). Munich is uniquely different from other German cities such as Frankfurt and Berlin because of its perceived style of the modern European city (Travis 220). Munich’s greatest attraction includes unique architectural creation as well as the great culture. However, the legendary BMW motor vehicle company is headquartered in Munich, most of the people travel to witness the making of the BMW vehicles. Other attractions in Munich include the great museums and the rich cultural festivals such as the October Fest (Travis 221).
My Experience with the Oktoberfest
My visit to the Munich coincided with the highly hyped Oktoberfest. Out of all the experience that I had in Munich, Oktoberfest was the most memorable one. Everywhere, people were in traditional clothes and almost everywhere were decorated beautifully. Besides, nearly everyone was in the eating mood where the traditional Bavarian delicacies were served. People were partying everywhere, and loud traditional music filled the air and beer were in abundance. At that point, I understood why Munich is referred to as a cultural city. Though it was an exciting experience, I did not like one aspect of Munich during the Oktoberfest. At that time, everything was overpriced, and the overcrowding did little to make me feel comfortable. Some of the drunken people misbehaved and made the festival look nasty. But generally, the fun was great to the point where I nearly joined the rest in celebrations only to be warned by the tour guide that it was not safe.
Venice, Italy
Venice is the capital of the Veneto region of Italy, which is found in the northeastern parts of Italy. It is located alongside other small islands that are demarcated by both the bridges as well as the canals. Some of the areas of the city are best known for their beauty in regards to their architectural work, artwork as well as their settings. Moreover, Venice is a home to 55,000 residents by the year 2014(Dickson 146). It is believed that the city is approximately 1,500 years old making it one of the famous historical sites across the world. Moreover, the Venice city has also several of the islands that add up to 117 in number (Dickson 149). It makes it one of the fascinating places to visit. Other attractions that can be found in the Venice city include ancient monuments, ancient churches Italian cuisines, ancient Gothic architecture, and much more. One aspect of the Venice city that every tourist should not miss is the famous water bus tour of the city. It is best suited for the romantic date which makes the city an ideal place to spend a honeymoon or even a romantic anniversary (Dickson 152).
My experience with the Venice Gondola Ride
The gondola ride is the local name of the water bus tour. It is a thirty minutes memorable ride across the city. So I decided to have a different approach of my stay in Venice by embarking in the boat riding and sightseeing. I had to wait for other five people because the capacity of the boat was six passengers and I had no extra cash to pay for the whole boat. However, the cost of the tour was pocket-friendly. Though the water was crowded, we managed to various sections of the city where we saw different, but magnificent buildings of diverse architectural designs. From the view, I came to realize that Venice is not only nutty but also a busy place with a great sense of the artwork. As for the ride, it was very fun, and I realize that it is the best way of spending an evening’s the city walls reflected the beautiful rays of the sunset.
Schaffhausen, Switzerland
Schaffhausen is a city that is located in the northern parts of the Switzerland. As per the data of the year 2014, Schaffhausen had an estimated population of 58, 648. The official language that is spoken in Schaffhausen town is the Swiss variant of what is known as the standard German. However, the people mainly speak a local variety of Swiss that is called Swiss German (Munsterberg 26). The city boasts of being a historical attraction of being in possession of the ancient buildings that are well decorated with sculptures and frescos. Schaffhausen is known for its wonderful natural sceneries. The main means of transportation around the Schaffhausen city is the train. It connects the city with the rest of the cities as well as the other tourist attractions, especially the Rhine Falls that is located in the Neuhausen am Rheinfal. It should be noted that the Rhine Fall that is located in the Schaffhausen city is the largest waterfall in Europe (Munsterberg 29). Therefore, the existence of the Rhine Falls makes Schaffhausen city a perfect tourist attraction in Switzerland. Moreover, the fact that Schaffhausen is considered to be traffic free together with the fact that it has Munot fortress makes it one of the prettiest city in Switzerland. Other attractions that can be visited while in the Schaffhausen are the castles of Laufen and the castle of the Worth. Besides, a canoe ride along the Rhine River has of late attracted visitors (Munsterberg 38).
Experience with the Rhine Falls
The Rhine fall was indeed majestic. The experience of the tumbling fall located on a 75 feet height and a stretch of approximately 450 feet of a stretched rock was second to none. In a group of four tourists, we managed to view the fall of the medieval castle of the famous Schloss Laufen. From where we were, we could feel the powerful roaring of the falling water and the peace it brought with it. The glass lift made it even more interesting and breathtaking. I must admit that it was my first time to experience the glass lift. At first, it looked scary, but with time we became accustomed to it. Furthermore, I was taken by surprise how cool and quiet the fall was and the natural environment it brought. The river Rhine did not disappoint as the rocky sections supplemented the fascinating scenery of the Rhine falls. From the glass lift, we also had the opportunity of having a closer aerial view of the area which was also memorable. We then decided to make our tour more memorable by embarking on a boat ride through the rapid. The boat ride along the Rhine River was nevertheless daring, but it was worth undertaking because it brought a unique experience during our tour around the Rhine Falls. One aspect that was outstanding during our tour was modern facilities that were available during the entire course of touring. They gave us the assurance of our safety even if the course looked extremely dangerous. I must admit that I enjoyed myself and that trip made my visit to the Schaffhausen, Switzerland very memorable.
Conclusion
Europe is an amazing place. The tourism industry in Europe is one of the most lucrative industries that offer employments to thousands of people. A large number of countries in Europe coupled with the fact that each country offers a different attraction makes Europe be an ideal tourist destination. Besides, most of the European cities are unique, some are iconic, some are historical, and others are just magnificent. Therefore, touring and adventuring Europe will nonetheless leave a memorable experience. Apart from the four cities that are discussed above, there are other numerous cities across Europe that have the ability to attract tourists.
