Anyone who would come across the title “The Trojan War” will have an idea of antagonism between two or more groups of characters. This, therefore, leads to the theme of revenge because whenever there is antagonism, there is bound to occur hatred and revenge. Entirely, attack in the text is against the Trojans. It is contextual in the Iliad when Paris snatches the wife of Meleanus by the name Helen who was the most beautiful woman, iconic in the whole land.
It is evident from the various scenes of the passage that what Paris did necessitated the actions of Meleanus. Just the way these other two, Achilles and Agamemnon have differences between them. The same phenomenon with that of Paris, Achilles grabbed Agamemnon’s prize when he deserved that particular award (Trojan War, 1). This grabbing it was still an attempt to settle a disagreement but again brings about revenge and the cycle remains.
It is all about the Trojans and Achaeans every other person wanted to be supported against the other to avenge. For instance, Achilles intends to carry out revenge on Agamemnon but knows he cannot do that but through his mother who will ask Zeus to aid accomplish that. It should not be forgotten that the idea of avenging has been taken seriously in the Trojan War and in the many other tragedies in Greek because it is even seen in one of the scenes that Atreus is facing a curse from the gods of Olympia as a punishment.
Wait! Trojanwar paper is just an example!
The contextual meaning of this theme within the story basically is the inability to understand people and situations (Trojan war, 1). Failure of getting insight into issues before handling them is what brings about a life full of revenge. It means characters in the story are never proactive in their decisions and would rather be callous to make others feel how they felt before.
