Jane Elliot used blues eyes and brown eyes to make her students realize the meaning of discrimination. The purpose of brotherhood is that we should love and treat each other in a way we would like to be addressed. She used this mechanism of brown eyes and blue eyes to make them understand that by describing people differently to make others feel inferior while their colleagues fell superior (Jane, min 3). This mechanism is significant in that one gets to realize if you can discriminate a person then you can also be victimized, and this brings personality change. It also makes us understand that we are equal and therefore we should not judge others.

Participants in Jane Elliot’s experiment felt inferior at that relatively short period; this only means that minority group in our society always feel so inferior for life (Jane, min 6). At the classroom the brown eyes students’ performance reduced, it just implies that in the society the minority group still get discouraged by how the superior group treat them and thus does not perform well in their activities.

People who live in poverty, some of the actions made by the brown-eyed students were that they isolated themselves from events that took place in the classroom and they never associated with the blue-eyed students (Jane, min 7). The poor also tend to isolate themselves from the rich people from the fear of being looked down. The brown-eyed students felt like they were being separated from their friend similarly in the society the rich people always talk so negatively about the poor.
