Using Healthcare Technology
Technology has been of great substance around the world especially in improving the people’s lives. Healthcare has been one of the beneficiaries of technological advancement and availability. Moving further into the 21st century requires that all the stakeholders within the health industry embrace technology to reap maximum out of it. It then requires every person to play the role that will see the increased availability and advancement of technology in the health sector. We need to encourage health providers to cease using the disparate information systems that have deficient ability to share the records of patients. Instead, the providers should be encouraged to adopt the use of electronic health records (Detmer, Steen, & Dick, 2009). This will allow electronic capturing of the data that belongs to patients and even makes the process of retrieval easy. At the same time, this will reduce the cost incurred in getting the patients records whenever they are over.
The Remote Monitoring Tools have been very efficient in offering healthcare services at a minimal cost. We need to carry out more research on how these tools can be utilized best by the various stakeholders, who include the health providers and the patients. If it’s possible, work on the ways of making it as simple as possible, even for patients with little education to use then best. The program will eliminate the costs that are involved in monitoring the patients, spending transport to the hospitals, and paying the checkup fee.

It is essential also to educate the general public about the application of technology in healthcare (Free, Phillips, Galli, Watson, Felix, Edwards, & Haines, 2013). The sensitization can be on various forms of technology including the wearable technology where the patients and doctors can use the devices that allow easy and fast recording of the data of the patients to facilitate treatment. The technology will reduce the amount of money spent by the government at the state, local, and national level trying to provide medicine for chronic diseases.
