There are several factors that affect the development of infants and toddlers. As a result, resources are required to aid the programs to help the infants attain the appropriate growth goals. The entire process of toddler development is so integrated that it needs adequate assessment. The evaluation process is done by professionals who have experience and skills to handle some of their challenges for sustainable growth. Assessment is accompanied by other methods of observation and screening to help identify some of the problems faced by the infants and their respective solutions. Thus, the assessment process is very vital to the early development of a child. The program has a curriculum that provides a benchmark on what has been achieved and the areas that require improvement. Similarly, the assessment process helps the infants to develop social skills as they interact and mingle with each other freely.
The professionals handling the infants get a close connection with them. As a result, they understand each other’s problems and strengths. This case provides a mechanism to provide recommendations for areas of improvement. Also, tracking of individual child development is possible by the use of assessment. As a result, the professional handling the toddlers develops the ability to provide the necessary intervention and other corrective programs. From assessment, individual instruction plans can also be prepared for the future toddler development.

The main aim of early childhood education is to help learners grow and learn. The assessment of toddlers at times is challenging (Olds, et al., 2007). However, the development of assessment programs helps the professionals to interact and bring up the toddlers in a proper way. Dealing with toddlers may pose serious attention to challenges such as fatigue and illness. Thus, the assessment has the benefit of identifying areas that need improvement and the activities that the infants like most. Also, evaluation helps in promotion or placement purposes.
