Verbal vs. Non-Verbal Communication
The act of communication is regarded as a natural aspect. As such, it is the interaction between people and also the sharing of information. Therefore, regardless of whether a person speaks or not, they eventually manage to relay the message to the other party. There exist two types of communication that is verbal and non- verbal.
Verbal communication is a form of communication that tends to use words that interchange information between people through the method of speech or also writing (Argyle, 1). On the other hand, “we have nonverbal communication where there is no use of words which are used for communication” (Mehrabian, 1). But other methods of communication are used. i.e., there is the use of body language, sign language, facial expressions and so on. As such, we have tried to break down the important differences that exist between verbal and nonverbal communication (Mehrabian, 1).
Firstly, there is the difference between verbal and nonverbal through the aspect of meaning. This has been evidenced above. Additionally, there is the aspect of time. When compared between verbal and nonverbal communication, there is the situation that nonverbal communication is considered to be time-consuming when a message is passed through its medium. This is because it is neither formal nor an informal way of communication and as such, it lags in terms of communication. Secondly, there is the aspect of the message being relayed in the wrong way when passed through the nonverbal form of communication.

Wait! VERBAL VSNON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION paper is just an example!

This is tied to the fact that verbal communication has more interaction as compared to nonverbal communication. On the other hand, verbal communication is relatively stable regarding passing a message.
In conclusion, verbal and nonverbal communication are regarded as the two basic modes of communication. Therefore, each one of them has a responsibility of relaying information from one point to another. However, it is evident that verbal communication is more effective when compared to nonverbal communication.
