Andrew Jackson vs. Today’s Leaders
President Andrew Jackson is one of the legend in the United States, mainly recognized for his bravery in the battle of New Orleans (Warshauer 5), which gave him the title, the ‘Old Hickory’ (Warshauer 4). Mainly for defeating the British and emerging unhurt. He was, however, charismatic, unpredictable, self-published and combative. He imposed martial laws, enabling him to punish his enemies (Cheathem 34) but was also quick to defend his citizens and country without waiting for anyone’s approval (Warshauer 6). Hence, being a hero of many Americans although he did not lack a few critics. His form of administration has made him quite comparable with today’s leaders with a few indicating the differences and similarities between him and President Donald Trump (The New Old Hickory 1).
A few people view the president Donald Trump as the modern day Andrew Jackson, nonetheless, there are some similarities between the two that could warrant a comparison. The two have no tolerance for corruption. Among the significant reasons that Andrew Jackson strived to succeed in the race to White House was the move taken by Quincy Adam ‘the corrupt bargain’ as he referred it. Where he conspired with the speaker of the house, to win and later rewarded the secretary of state position (Donald Trump Compared to Andrew Jackson 2). Donald Trump, on the other hand, has been quick also to call out the corrupt American elite (VOA 2). Nonetheless, their strong personalities have enabled them to be great leaders, through the enforcement of policies and in protecting and defending their citizens (Mansky 7), and in some instances making almost similar measures despite the passage of time in their regimes.

Wait! What changes are reflected in American society during the first half of the 19th century especially for women paper is just an example!

They are on the forefront in defending their citizens, even though policies, without concerning themselves with the take of others, on their move.
