The Singer Solution to World Poverty
Peter Singer was a philosopher and a lecturer at the Princeton University, as an ethicist, he tried to come up with a solution to poverty. He came up with an argument whereas he related humans and the animals to an even level of morals. He sees humans be less generous and very unkind to others. This is evident through two narrations; Bob and the Bugatti and Dora with the boy she took to a human peddler without knowing. Therefore, this paper seeks to discuss the Singer’s solution to world poverty.
Singer argues that children are more worth to be saved from poverty compared to the adults. He says that young children have no authority over their poverty levels as they have not brought poverty on themselves (Singer N.p). He suggests that when debt is solved on children, it helps them in their future to establish themselves to better persons, especially at their transformation levels, from childhood. Singer sees everyone having the ability to help the children who are suffering from overseas it only needs them to sacrifice to restore life from sickness and death
Singer identifies two types of people both with an ability to save a life. For example Bob as in the story, he is seen to have the ability to determine whether the kid survives from being killed by the train or choosing his car which is his pride to survive. Bob decides not to throw the switch to stop the train from crushing the boy and instead saves his Bugatti car which is his pride (Singer N.

p). Here Bob is used as those Americans, who have got the much money, but they only think of living luxurious lives without caring about other persons suffering from poverty, people dying of hunger and different from common diseases that can easily be treated but they have no access to medical care. Singer says that if such people could be generous and sacrifice some of their income and send them to charitable organisations, they will save the lives of children in the overseas.
Singer also suggests that the government should increase its participation in the allocation of the resource to the relief organisation to provide as much as they can. He suggests that the government should increase its distribution as it’s the only way of spreading the burden equitably across all the people paying taxes. Through this, there will be a fair share of the people on what they can afford to give for donations for the period of their working. People with surplus wealth should sacrifice some of it to save lives, other than staying the luxurious life on beaches, buying new clothes every other time to keep trend and driving very expensive cars. They can send their donations to organisations such as Unicef or Oxfam America to be issued from people suffering from poverty other than spending the money on non-essential things.
In conclusion, I support the idea that the singer brings out to do away with poverty. People should commit as much as they can to save a life despite the uncertainties of whether the money will reach the children in need one should be ready to give. The sacrifice becomes more significant when you people tend to think more about others than how they feel about themselves.
