SUBJECT: Recommendations on Efficient Ways of Handling Users’ Data Privacy
In the interest of ensuring the protection of their constitutional right to privacy, Facebook users would require that information about them in their accounts should strictly be private and confidential. Besides, user privacy is a critical part of the company’s terms and conditions whenever users sign up or post information on their Facebook accounts. As an employee of the Information and Security Systems (ISS) has proposed recommendations to address the possible occurrence of data loss and cases of privacy breaches.
Background
In the wake of pricy breach concerns among Facebook users, it is imperative the company set measures to prevent any future misuse of critical and confidential data.
Problem
Many Facebook users have had complaints about the privacy of their Facebook accounts and misuse of data contained in the accounts. Every user’s personal information is part of his or her private life and not everyone should have the access to such data. Facebook users contribute substantial amounts of income to company. It is important to retain users’ confidence by upgrading the company’s security systems.
Recommendations
I recommend the following measures be set by the Facebook developers to help secure users’ data:
Upgrade Facebook servers to detect when a user attempts to access other users’ private data without their permission.

Create a requirement that every Facebook user must change his or her privacy settings after a specified time to upgrade security.
Create a tracking system that allows Facebook developers to keep a trail of malicious acts by hackers.
Install more efficient firewalls which do not allow for easy hacking of users’ data.
It is my belief that the strategies are implemented correctly by Facebook management. They would achieve efficient data privacy for their users. I recommend a formal meeting with the management to give them more directions on how to implement, considerations of cost of the project and meet the set objectives of the issue. I will highly appreciate communicating with the management at your nearest convenience to address the matter.
