Theoretical Components Summary
Focus Behavior modification is a critical approach to working people who have developmental disabilities, mentally handicapped and other psychological conditions like irritable and captivating disorders, and phobias.

Function
The theory is better since it is gradual and involves fewer changes in the environment of the subject.
Disability Disability in this context is the inability to adapt, that is, maladaptive behavior, to the change in the immediate environment. Poor performance on occupation is classified under maladaptive behavior.
Change The change is expected to occur gradually through adaptation of new positive behavior. For an effective change, reminders on importance of change must be provided.
Motivation The change enforced to occur through motivation and reinforcement. This is by providing the client with cues that act as reminders to change. The motivators may be awards or even verbal praises and approvals.
Evaluation Physical assessment of behavior adaptation may be done through observations and checklists in the areas of disability. Definitions of reinforcers and stress management interviews or questionnaires are also evaluation tools. After all, these scores of findings are extracted (Cole & Tufano, 2008).
Intervention Guidelines Often it is target behavior specific where strategies are developed to enhance mechanisms for managing the present disability, gradual development of new manner and new skills development.

Theoretical Components This theory is being applied in the teaching fields, guidance and counseling, and rehabilitation centers among other fields. The first behavioral frame is behavior modification. Improvement of human behavior has been achieved by use of professional therapists by use of the reference behavioral frame. The frames of reference mainly applies to the external human functioning features that can be physically monitored and impact of it be evaluated (Jorgensen, 2011).Inquisitional frame of reference is commonly applied in the therapy processes. This frame of reference of also termed as action-consequence frame since the behavior of the individual changes with the daily tasks that they frequently do.

This frame can be implemented by introducing a new perspective towards which a person will see a particular situation. This frame is used by therapists to modify the internal thoughts that may be norms, cultural expectations, beliefs, attitudes, perceptions, and emotions that have their basis in a past encounter.

A questioning session on the attitude towards their occupation can be done to measure the degree of change. Observations on the progress of someone’s career can be done to measure the response

Research These two frames of reference go hand-in-hand in enhancing and improving participation in occupations. Professional therapists use all these frames with the aim of creating a better life out of the target individual. Thus they are very critical and require maximum attention and care while implementing them. Through these frames of reference, the life of the victims can be rejuvenated for better.
